Austin is a 2014 Senior at Norwood High School in Norwood MA. I always ask before the session what they are planning for after high school.
For Austin he wants to study "the Classics" ; Greek, Roman and maybe some Rolling Stones ... ( HA! he didn't say that...)
Austin's also a great actor - so when you ask " 2 B or not 2 B?" - the answer is Yes!
It's all a fantasy ... all make believe and fun too at Norwood's Fantasy Footsteps event for young believers in the magic of fairy tales.
The event is held in the dimmly lit halls of Norwood MA Savage Center around the time ... but not on Halloween. Students put on short skits to the joy and amusement of the youngest kids.
Liz is an actress and model that I've had the pleasure to work with for a few years. We recently got together to refresh her portfolio images and a had a great time.
Liz is so comfortable in front of the camera that I barely give her any direction. And the images we get - are awesome.
Haunted Houses are not on my list of things I like to do. I avoid them.
But when you get the call to photograph one, well, you just have to go!
Chestnut Hill Realty's Hancock Village Apartments in Chestnut Hill MA, created the most elaborate haunted house that I have ever seen ... or photographed for that matter.
The staff created it for the joy and amusement ... and to scare the pee out of the residents and it was a total success. Of course if the guides gave the signal - the cast would "tone it down" so that the little ones on the tour could enjoy the fun and not have sleepless nights!
But it was still sooooo creepy - I hope they ask me to photograph next year's.
Norwood MA public schools offer the students academics, sports and the arts. Together these three give our children the chance to experience all the good that life has to offer.
The Gala on the Hill brings together past and present students and faculty in a celebration of the arts. And it was a truly a festive event. But more than that - it showed us all how the arts are at the core of our souls, the foundation of confidence and well being.
The evening began with the Norwood High Marching band. Throughout the evening we saw theatrical and musical performances from current and past students and vocal performances from two of the faculty.
I was honored to be asked to photograph this year's Breathe Deep Boston 5K walk to support lung cancer research for a cure.
Thousands came out to walk and cheer and show their love and support. Volunteers and survivors walking hand in hand, some in wheel chairs and some in costumes - but all with a mission to end lung cancer in our life time.
The view of Boston as we walked.
The Voices of Hope sang for the opening ceremony.
