Jessica and Jared - a Wedding Day 

I've know Jess for many years but hadn't seen her since she was in the high school theatrical productions I had photographed - so when she asked me to photograph their Engagement session I was excited to see her and her Fiance.

Fast Forward! and it was now their Wedding Day. 

Where Jess is funny and loud ... Jared is quiet and restrained ... well that's the way they first appear. 

But soon I found that they are so in love happy to be together.

Wedding Days are magical ... and true.

Confirmation is for many a milestone in their lives. Certainly in their religious lives anyway. 

And I think for most it brings a sigh of relief ... they made it through another set of training. 

But even more than that, these kids are seen as adults by the church. Something they have probably felt for a few years.

It is a proud day for families and it is always an honor for me to help capture this day.

Steve stopped by the studio for an executive portrait and the next thing I know were are deep into a lifestyle ... theatrical ... modeling session . 

And I don't think that Steve knew his full potential!  

Steve was a natural and now he knows !!  I think I had better watch the magazines for him.

It's so nice to see families come together for a portrait session. Especially when it's multiple families and the purpose is to create a gift for their Parent's anniversary.

We all met at my studio on a fine Summer day with the beautiful pond as a backdrop. 

These families love being together, so it was actually hard to tell which kids went with which adults !  

And in the end, that made this session very special.

  

  

As the year comes to a close

As the year comes to a close - I remind myself that I didn't choose to be a photographer (or a musician for that matter) - I was drawn to it. 

And you might feel the same about what you do in life. At least, I hope that you do.


Sometimes the moments of our lives rush by us so fast and it's all that we can do to just "live in the moment" .  Our memories blur and soon, begin to fade away.  But a photograph waits patiently, it lets us catch up and see, hold, experience and enjoy all of those precious moments that we might otherwise have missed.

So take a photograph of all the moments in your life. The small events, the major events and even the sad ones. 


For years I was a bit embarrassed and hid the fact that I loved looking into my client's eyes and seeing what I consider, the truth.

It wasn't until I saw this quote from Annie Leibovitz that I realized that I wasn't alone ...  "A thing that you see in my pictures is that I was not afraid to fall in love with these people."


So as this year comes to a close - I thank God for how lucky I am to be a photographer.

Two weddings, a winery visit and three wedding receptions - that's the way you do it when you're my Daughter.

And that's the way it should be. 

May 2013 we all headed out to Los Angeles . 

First there was the traditional Thai wedding at the Wat Thai temple in Los Angeles 

Then the reception with lots of traditional Thai food and lots of family 

The next day we headed to Malibu for a winery visit and some tasting at at Saddle Rock Ranch. What a nice relaxing day with family and friends 

 

The next day; Sunday we were off again to Malibu for my Daughter's "western" ( no not country and western ... HA!) wedding day. On top of a mountain ... overlooking a winery. Yea, it was majestic to say the least!

Now fast forward to December ... My Daughter ... Christine and my Son-In-Law Rich, came home for a special reception at Sky Restaurant in Norwood MA. Finally the subject of this post .. you are thinking! And you're right!

Family and family friends all came out for the east coast celebration of my Daughter's wedding.

Letting go of my fav redhead is not easy .. but I'm working on it.

The Winter is coming and it's Gonna Be Wicked Blurry

Of all the seasons, Winter is the hardest to for me to explain - it's like the world is sleeping, getting some needed rest and we need to just let it alone for a little while. 

And here in New England ... it's friggin' cold! and blurry. That's the way it feels to me - short days too.

Springtime ... COME!!

Harvey is a Pooka - a mischievous spirit - a six foot 1 and one half inch rabbit.

And Elwood P Dowd and the characters of Norwood High School - Norwood MA production of "Harvey"are all wrapped up in this hilarious story of "is it or isn't it"

By the end of the play, I certainly thought that I had seen a rabbit ... at least his shadow!
