Norwood High School Senior Picture Photography by Walpole MA High School Portrait Photographer, Dan Busler {Katherine Gillis}

Katherine's a 2k15 Senior at Norwood High School in Norwood MA.

It seems like only yesterday she was ... younger !

I know that many Senior portrait photographers focus on getting that senior portrait ... "get the pretty picture and send them home" .

And I do too. But then, I know that there is more to capture.

Senior pictures mark one of the biggest milestones in their lives ... and in their Parent's lives too.

I try to capture the person who is on the edge of their next great adventure ... which will be a trade or going off to college.

Katherine has a great smile and a serious look as well.

Boston Harbor Photography by Walpole MA Wedding Portrait Event Photographer, Dan Busler

I was aboard the Spirit of Boston cruise line recently to photograph an event and noticed a number of small sail boats at just the right angle to the setting sun to make some pretty cool shots.

This was being in the right place, at the right time, and some downtime ... and my camera !

Boston Event Photography by Walpole MA Event Photographer, Dan Busler {Mayo Bowl}

The New England Patriots Jerod Mayo and his wife Chantel hosted The 5th Annual Mayo Bowl which supports the Boston Medical Center on September 8th 2014 at Kings Bowling at Legacy Place in Dedham MA.

Many of the current and former Patriots places came out including Vince Wilfork, Tedy Bruschi, Tom Brady, Nate Solder, Kyle Arrington and Chandler Jones .

Fans had the opportunity to mingle and bowl with the players  all in support of this worthy cause.

Here a look at the 2013 Mayo Bowl http://www.boston.com/sports/blogs/offthefield/2013/09/mayo_bowl_2013.html

Walpole Theatrical Performance Photography by Walpole Event Photographer, Dan Busler {Walpole Footlighters}

2014 marks the 90th anniversary of The Walpole Footlighters in Walpole MA.

You may not be aware of it, but community theater groups are performing every week around the country. This is not just a few friends who put on a show in the barn.

You'll find extremely talents kids, college students, recent college grads who are building a resume, former professional actors who got a "day job" but can't think of leaving the theater and so many others who audition (seriously competitive auditions), rehearse and perform ... because they just have to share the gifts that they have inside of themselves.

And then there are the spouses, family and friends - they are they carpenters, set and costume designers, stage managers, lighting technicians, ushers and accountants who allow the show to go on and look awesome each night.

Like so many others before I knew better - I thought that a community theater production would be less than professional in the performances, costumes and sets. I was so wrong.

I've put together a slideshow for the Footlighters 90th gala with some images from their archives and some of my photos from their productions. I hope that you will enjoy it.

For over 90 years - the Walpole Footlighters have been dedicated to bringing quality productions to the people.

Boston Executive Headshot Photography by Walpole MA Headshot Photographer, Dan Busler {Corey Elizabeth}

Corey is heading into grad school and so we got together for some "grad school" - type serious headshots.

Which in Corey's case was no that easy ... hey I tried to make her look boring and corporate and "buttoned down" ... I couldn't .  HA!

Luckily she's heading into marketing, so her smile and "dead-on" gaze (which of course I coax all my clients to give me) looks just fine!

Medfield High Senior Photography by Walpole MA Senior Portrait Photographer, Dan Busler {Sam}

I told Sam that I saw a CEO position in his future. There's a certain quiet confidence in the way he looks at the camera ... and that's how we get these great images.

But for now, he has to finish his Senior year of high school. The rest?  We'll have to wait to find out.

Cherish the Corny - Cherish the Boring - Cherish Each Moment {Photographs}

Hey Dan ... are you feeling a bit down today?

Yea, a bit, I came across a few pictures of when my kids and I visited my Mom in Pennsylvania in August 2004, yes, 10 years ago.  (We only got to see her a couple of times a year ... my fault)

It was just a visit. We had simple conversations, sat around and watched TV, went to visit people in town, went out for ice cream when we got bored, made hot dogs with cheese on them, looked at my Mom's tomato plants.

Five years later my Mom had died.

I think the iPhone (insert your favorite mobile device name here) camera is the greatest invention. Better than the instant camera to be sure.

I'm a professional photographer and I tell people that they should shoot a billion pictures a year with their phones, save them to hard drives and put them in a safe ..."But Dan, I'll never look at them, it's a waste ... they'll just sit there"

Yep, they'll just sit there until one day ... ten years ... twenty years from now you or your kids or grand kids will pull them out and get to see the exact moment when you were younger and they were too.

The moments do rush by - they do blur and they do fade away. But a photograph waits patiently for you until you need it so that you might hold those precious memories in your heart once again.
